Serpenti Forever Top Handle

The top handle silhouette has a formality that Bvlgari immediately subverts with its choice of colour. Emerald green calf leather — the same saturated tone that defines the house’s malachite heritage — wraps a compact 18.5 x 16 x 10.5 cm frame that sits upright on its own base, no slouching, no collapsing. The rolled top handle is fixed, not foldable, giving it the posture of a bag that belongs on a table as much as on an arm. Most brands treat the top handle as a concession to occasion dressing; Bvlgari treats it as architecture.

The snakehead closure in light gold-plated brass is identical in craftsmanship to the shoulder bag versions, but here the proportions shift: on the smaller body, the clasp dominates more, reading less as hardware and more as a brooch pinned to the front flap. Black and white agate enamel, malachite eyes. When it releases, the bag opens into three separate compartments rather than the expected two — a central section, two side gussets — with an additional pocket across the back exterior and an internal mirror pouch stocked with a detachable mirror.
