Serpentine Tote

Not every Serpenti bag needs a snakehead clasp to make its point. Bvlgari’s Serpentine tote takes a different route: the serpent motif migrates to the handles, where two sculpted snake bodies rise from gold-plated brass, their scales individually engraved into the metal and their eyes set with red enamel — a flash of ruby colour that catches the light each time the bag moves. There is no clasp here; the top stays open, a clean vertical silhouette in black Metropolitan calf leather, a material engineered to resist wear without sacrificing the softness you would expect from Italian leatherwork.

At 13 x 17.5 x 5.5 cm, this is a mini tote in the truest sense — taller than it is wide, slim enough to slide under an arm, with a single open compartment lined entirely in black nappa leather. One internal patch pocket holds a phone or card case. The proportions are deliberately architectural: the rigid vertical body reads more like a jewellery object than a traditional carryall, which is exactly the intention. This is not a bag that competes with its contents — it frames them.

A removable leather shoulder strap adjusts for crossbody wear, and when you detach it, the bag becomes a handheld piece carried by those serpent handles alone — a miniature sculpture with a practical side.
