Dior Caro

Marc Bohan introduced the Dior Oblique motif in 1967. It was not intended as a logo in the modern sense — no repeating monogram, no literal branding. Instead, oblique letters formed a pattern that registered as texture first and text second. Nearly sixty years later, the motif continues on the Miss Caro Mini Bag, applied here in blue jacquard canvas that preserves the original woven depth.

The blue Dior Oblique version differs from its leather counterparts in key ways. The canvas carries weight differently — lighter on the shoulder, more resistant to surface scratches, and visually busier in a way that simplifies outfit coordination. Tonal leather detailing on the flap edges and strap base prevents the bag from landing as purely casual, while the antique gold CD twist clasp adds vintage tension alongside the modern jacquard.

The clasp itself, drawn from Christian Dior perfume bottle seals, sits at the center of the flap. It demands interaction — a turn to open, a turn to close — over the passive closure of a magnetic snap. The chain strap includes a leather shoulder insert for comfort, and the adjustable drop accommodates both shoulder and crossbody wear.

At 18 cm wide, the interior fits phone, cards, and small essentials without bulk. The blue Oblique jacquard offers a different entry point into the Miss Caro line — one rooted in House history as opposed to leather craft, but no less deliberate in its execution.
