Here’s what happens when you carry this bag: you pack it in the morning with a laptop, a sweater, your lunch, a water bottle, and your phone charger, and then on the train you fold the sides in, drop the flap, and suddenly it’s half the size and everything inside is hidden. The gussets are the reason. Each side of the bag has a panel of canvas that can be let out or folded in, and when they’re both in, the tote goes from open basket to closed bag in about three seconds. The body measures 34 x 16 x 25 cm in black canvas with a slight surface texture. Wooden bars run across the top edge — not decorative, they actually keep the opening stiff so the bag doesn’t collapse when you put it down. Leather patches wrap the bottom corners, exactly where the bag hits the ground first. This is a work bag that closes. That alone makes it different from every other tote.
