The Petite Malle is Nicolas Ghesquière’s miniature of the Louis Vuitton trunk: metal corners, a leather top handle, and the classic Monogram canvas in brown and black. It is less a handbag than a piece of the archive you can carry.
Inside, a microfiber lining holds the essentials; outside, the removable, adjustable strap lets it ride crossbody like a small case.
12.4 × 20.1 × 6.1 cm, it is the trunk, distilled to an evening scale, with gold-color hardware at every corner.
