The Icare maxi tote in natural raffia and vegetable-tanned leather, crocheted entirely by hand. The technique requires highly specialized artisans — Saint Laurent partnered with Akanjo, a Madagascar social enterprise certified by the World Fair Trade Organization.
An oversized Cassandre is placed across the front, while inner ties let the sides collapse or expand. The removable raffia sunglasses case, affixed with a long chain, doubles as a practical companion piece.
Measuring 37 to 55 cm tall, 43 cm wide and 5 cm deep, the bag keeps its architectural lines even in a breezy, warm-weather material. Bronze-tone metal hardware and a 22 cm handle drop finish the piece.
